Marygrove College is pleased to welcome back alumna and Emmy Award-winning news anchor Amy Lange on Thursday, March 15, for “Today’s News: Real or Fake and How to Tell the Difference,” a conversation, talk-back, and networking event. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. and is free of charge and open to the public.
“As an investigative journalist and news anchor, Amy Lange continues to prove that she is committed to transparency and social justice,” said Marygrove College President Elizabeth Burns. “It is fitting that she will guide us in a discussion regarding the current state of the media and how to analyze its authenticity.”
Amy Lange is an Emmy award-winning anchor and reporter with FOX 2 News. She has covered the Democratic National Convention, the Flint Water Crisis, and same-sex marriage—amongst many other topics—and won Emmy awards for her reporting in Haiti and her work on children in the state foster care system. Her work on homeless veterans was recognized with an Edward R. Murrow Regional Award. She has also received awards from the Society of Professional Journalists, the Michigan Association of Broadcasters, and the Associated Press.
